Lipvas 10mg Tablets (Generic Name: Atorvastatin 10mg Tablets ) is used together with diet to lower blood levels of “bad” cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein, or LDL), to increase levels of “good” cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein, or HDL), and to lower triglycerides (a type of fat in the blood).

This medication is used to treat high cholesterol, and to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack, or other heart complications in people with type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, or other risk factors.

HOW Lipvas 10mg TABLETS WORK :-

Statins are drugs that can lower your cholesterol. They work by blocking a substance your body needs to make cholesterol.

Lowering cholesterol isn’t the only benefit associated with statins. These medications have also been linked to a lower risk of heart disease and stroke. These drugs may help stabilize the plaques on blood vessel walls and reduce the risk of certain blood clots.

RECOMMENDED WAYS TO TAKE Lipvas 10mg TABLETS:-

  • Take atorvastatin once a day or as directed by your doctor. You can choose to take it at any time, as long as you stick to the same time every day. This prevents your blood levels from becoming too high or too low.
  • You can take atorvastatin with or without food, but taking it after food may help if it makes you feel sick.
  • Swallow atorvastatin tablets whole with a drink of water.

It takes about 77 hours (3 days) for Atorvastatin to be out of your system. The elimination half life of Atorvastatin is approximately 14 hours. This is the time it takes for your body to reduce plasma drug levels by half.

Some products that may interact with this drug include: daptomycin, gemfibrozil. Other medications can affect the removal of atorvastatin from your body, which may affect how atorvastatin works. Examples include cyclosporine, glecaprevir plus pibrentasvir, telithromycin, ritonavir, among others. Grapefruit juice and grapefruits can interact with atorvastatin
